Five trustees were present at the August 4, 2026 Mill Shoals Village board meeting as trustee Jade French presented his resignation letter, stating he had new employment with the Carmi Police Department and would no longer to attend meetings. Two candidates were offered to fill the vacancy, Billy Doggett and Jeremy Jennings. Everyone agreed Jeremy would be a good addition, but some felt Doggett was better positioned to vote on critical water issues as he routinely came to the meetings. All but one of the five gave their approval to Doggett's appointment. Elizabeth Bare voted no.
