Scholarship Application Deadline is Feb. 28 at SIC

Scholarship application time is in full swing at Southeastern Illinois College. The deadline is Feb. 28 for all students -- new and current -- who plan to attend during the 2021-22 academic year. One application serves for more than 300 possible scholarships.

The application has three main requirements: 1) fill out the application entirely, 2) complete a typed 750-1,000 word essay explaining career goals, leadership experience, community involvement and need for scholarships, and 3) submit a high school or current college transcript. [Read more...]

SIC Freezes Tuition, Engages COVID-Related Fiscal Mitigations

The Southeastern Illinois College Board met in the Heritage Room on the main campus in Harrisburg Tuesday, Jan. 19, to freeze tuition for students and discuss fiscal management strategies in anticipation of state reductions and fewer tuition dollars due to smaller enrollment from the aftermath of the pandemic. SIC Mini-Semester Helps Students Knock Out a Few Classes in Half the Time

Spring semester is in full swing at Southeastern Illinois College, but that does not mean it’s too late to register for some classes. SIC is offering a mini-semester this year with classes beginning March 15. 
The mini-semester courses will be all online, which means students can work on classes at their convenience. The courses are eight weeks long, rather than the traditional 16-weeks, and will finish up at the same time as the regular spring semester. [Read more...]

Regional Photography Exhibit Opens Feb. 2 at SIC’s Hise Museum

The Ella Elizabeth Hise Museum of Regional Art at Southeastern Illinois College will open the Regional Photographer Exhibit Tuesday, Feb. 2. This show will run through Friday, May. 14.  Artists from across the region have submitted works to be considered, and with 60 pieces included, this promises to be a dynamic exhibition. Subject matter includes portraits, wildlife and nature amongst many others. [Read more...]
