Enfield Woman Sentenced Yesterday to Almost 10 Years in IDOC
White County Sheriff's Deputy Nick Capeheart was informed May 6, at 9:10 a.m. that Chrystal G. Bridges, 42 of Enfield, was at the probation office in Carmi and there was a warrant for her arrest. Enfield Institutes Stiffer Reconnect Fees for Repeatedly Delinquent Utility Customers

The Enfield Village Board on Tuesday took a markedly stiffer approach to utility reconnect fees for non-paying customers, starting in May. The board considered and voted that the following penalties be instituted for repeated payment delinquency within a 12 month time period: first time reconnect $75, second time $150, third time $300, fourth time $600 and so forth. At the regular monthly meeting of the Enfield Village board, the municipality took more steps in its attempts to rectify the Food Shop property issue. It was reported that a trial on the matter was set for March 17 and would go before a White County judge. Enfield Still Seeking Owners of Food Shoppe Property, Motor Home Still Parked on Property

The Village of Enfield is still waiting to learn who owns the old Food Shoppe property as the village attorney has not contacted them since January's meeting. There is confusion as to who actually holds the deed to the property. A trial is set for March 17 in White County court for the owners/occupiers of the motor home on the property that has not yet been moved after a citation from the Village. [Read more...]
