LUCAS REPORTS ON COPS AND KIDS/HUCK’S KARING FOR KIDS
Submitted by Officer Jonathan Lucas
FOP Lodge 249's Cops and Kids Christmas and Huck's Karing for Kids programs were a tremendous success again this year in spite of this being the worst year ever! Although we were not able to shop with the children, which is always a blast, we were able to deliver clothes and gifts to the doorsteps of 70 kids on Christmas Eve. The children also received Huck's goody bags stuffed with free food coupons, toys and snacks.
The donations from our community, including monetary, clothes, and toys, far exceeded what we anticipated to come in during this pandemic. The excitement on the children's faces when they realized the bags full of gifts being dropped off were for them was absolutely priceless. I am truly amazed at the giving spirit of this community whether it be individuals, businesses, organizations or churches. Again, thank you all, our community, for being so caring and charitable. May God bless you all this coming year.

Michael Hillegas daughters (DAR) and other friends of the veterans donated the items.
