Transportation Director Will Knight gave a report to the Carmi White County School board on Tuesday night regarding the bids the District had received since last month's decision to let bids for District vehicle needs. The final motion was to approve the lowest bid from Rice Motor Company of $64,838.00 for an eight to 10 passenger service Suburban; reject all bids for eight to 10 passenger transit vans; accept the lowest bid from Southern Bus and Mobility for the amount not to exceed the second lowest amount, of $99,365.00 for an 11 to 15 passenger white activity bus; and reject all bids for a seven to nine passenger Driver's Ed van and to rebid that vehicle. The five present board members approved the motion. Kelly Ackerman and Brandon Barbre were absent.
