Gymnasts from the Flip Flops and Fitness Tumble Team in Harrisburg, and Tumble Time Cheer and Fitness in Carmi are taking their hard-earned gymnastic talents to the USTA (United States Trampoline and Tumbling Association) Nationals Competition in Rapid City, S.D., in July.
These athletes competed at the USTA State Competition in Pana, Ill., on April 18-19, and secured a place on the nationals team by receiving 1st through 15th places in divisions that had up to 38 girls participating. Miah Scroggins, 9, daughter of Bill and Teresa Scroggins, placed 13th on the double mini, 15th on the trampoline and 2nd in tumbling. Bree Vollman, 10, daughter of Matt and Heather Vollman, placed 13th on the double mini, 8th on the trampoline and 9th in tumbling. Morgan Bryant, 9, daughter of Evan and Marilyn Bryant, placed 11th on the double mini, 11th on the trampoline and 10th in tumbling. Sydney Bryant, 12, also the daughter of Evan and Marilyn, placed 10th on the double mini and 10th on the trampoline. Sophie Neal, 12, daughter of Jeff and Courtney Neal, placed 12th on the trampoline and 6th in tumbling.
