Carmi Man Charged with Burglary, Possession of Meth

On May 5, 2022, members of the White County Sheriff's Department, Sheriff Randy Graves, Deputy Jordan Weiss, Deputy Matt Wicker, along with members of the Carmi City Police Department and Norris City Police Department, served a search warrant at the location of 729 Shipley Street in Carmi Illinois, on Chad Carrow, 44 of Carmi. Stolen Vehicle Found in Maunie

Sandee Brown, 47 of Carmi, reported her car stolen on May 7 around 2:50 p.m. Deputy Nick Capeheart received the call about stolen vehicle from 629 Church St. in Carmi. Brown said she had been gone during the day on her bike. The keys to the vehicle were left inside her residence. When she arrived home, her Mitsubishi Eclipse was gone. [Read more...]

Catalytic Converter Stolen in Springerton

James R. Majors, 57 of Springerton, on May 1 requested a deputy to check a building on property that he owned. Deputy Nick Capeheart responded. Majors stated that a while back, someone had stolen the wheels off a 1977 Pontiac Trans Am on the property, but someone had recently put a set of rims and tires back on the vehicle, and the front end was put on jack stands. WC Sheriff: Hamilton County Inmate Already in Jail Charged with New Crimes

White County Sheriff's Deputy George Spencer met with Tad L Ziehm, 49 of Dahlgren, on May 3 at the White County Jail to serve a new Hamilton County arrest warrant. Ziehm was currently being housed in the WC jail on other Hamilton County charges. He was advised of the warrant with additional charges of Child Pornography/Bond Revocation with a bail amount of $5,000,000 and no provision for a 10% cash bond provision. White County Sheriff’s Department Notifies Residents of Customs Scam

Sheriff Randy Graves with the White County Sheriffs Department, would like to notify the citizens of White County of a recent scam. The scam was reported today of a person calling advising The United States Customs had seized a package with their name on it. The person on the other line acted as if they were a Police Officer asking for the person's information. Do not give out any personal information over the phone. Sheriff Randy Graves

Carmi Man Arrested on Charges of Criminal Sexual Assault

Daniel Lanning of Carmi was arrested yesterday on charges of Criminal Sexual Assault.

On Friday April 15, 2022, the White County Sheriffs Department arrested 41 year old Daniel W. Lanning of Carmi on multiple Criminal Sexual Assault charges. The White County Sheriffs Department was notified earlier in the week that a juvenile female was a victim of a sexual assault in White County. [Read more...]

White County Sheriff’s Reports – April 5

Crossville man arrested
Deputy Jordan Weiss and Deputy Matt Wicker of the White County Sheriff’s Dept. assisted Officer Brown of Grayville PD on April 5 with a traffic stop on East Butler St. in Grayville. Officer Brown found the driver of the vehicle, Logan D. Fisk, 34 of Crossville,  had a suspended driver’s license. Upon walking up to the vehicle Deputy Weiss was notified that Fisk was seated in the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. Deputies Weiss and Wicker had been searching for Fisk to serve an active White county Warrant. Fisk was placed under arrest for the active warrant and transported to the White County Jail for booking and processing. [Read more...]
