Thursday, Feb. 22 the NCOE Volleyball teams welcomed Galatia to Price Gymnasium for their second meeting of the season.
The 8th grade had little trouble with the Lady Bearcats as they won in 2 sets, 25-9, 25-3.
“It was good to play well against a conference team,” Coach Melton said.
Kirsten Cacia led the scoring with 13 points and Bree Vollman had 8. Seven points apiece were served by Erin Wicker and Riley Dagley. Two points were served by Hallie Roper and Hollan Everett. Kenlee Cole and Meagan Healy both had one.
At the net, Everett was busy with 7 kills, as Roper added 2, and Cacia and Healy each had one. Vollman had 6 assists, with Everett and Healy having one each.
Defensively, Roper had 2 digs with Healy and Dagley having one each. Everett had one block.
Jasmine Allen and Gracie Howard also participated in the win.
The 8th grade is now 11-2.
The 7th grade girls also had a good night, as they also won in two sets, 25–13, 25-9.
“The girls had a good serving night and passed well too,” Coach Black said.
Miah Scroggins let the serving with 12 points, followed by Brynn Warren and Avery Black with 6 each. Five points apiece were scored by Jerra Barton and Gracie Allen. Elise Hortin had two and Rianna Hickey one.
Offensively, Morgan Bryant had 2 kills, as Hickey, Brooke Healy and Barton had one each. Barton and Warren both had 2 assists and Scroggins had one.
Mallory Fulkerson, Taylor Johnson, Lauren Poole and Mercedes Hise also participated in the victory.
The 7th grade is now 6-4.
