White County Treasurer Micheal Baxley told the board last night that the county's audit had been completed and would be presented at next month's meeting. The highlights, he said, are that the County's expenses are down by $453,429, or 8%, due to reduced spending. He also reported that revenues were up by $120,165, or 2%, thereby closing in on the deficit gap. Baxley said the cannabis sales tax has been bringing in $36,000 per month and he expected to see the deficit gap closed by the end of the year. Baxley also reported that the County had expenditures of $733,053.48 for the month of April, and income of $562,672.98, leaving an ending balance of $1,740,346.24.
