Trustee Jade French served as President Pro Tem in Tim Isaac's absence at the Mill Shoals board of trustees meeting on June 5.
Clerk Heath Tullis told the board that the Mill Shoals had a signed agreement with Enfield stating that Enfield would provide police protection for the Village from May 25 to June 26 in exchange for the police car. However, he said, the agreement is most likely void now as Enfield did not have a police officer during the month of May.
The Board discussed its options, to include possibly new agreement if Enfield did get a policeman or the Village may sell the car and refund the donors. Several Mill Shoals residents donated toward the car and were starting to get upset that there was no police protection. Former Trustee Josh West said he did not believe Mill Shoals got a very good deal on the last agreement, saying it was rushed. He had voted no on the agreement. The Board decided Clerk Tullis should reach out to Enfield to see where they were on hiring a policeman.
