Cold temperatures did not deter students attending NCOE’s 2019 Homecoming Dance and Coronation on Saturday, Feb. 16, in the H.J. Phelps Gymnasium. Flanked by oversized Oscar award statues and the Hollywood sign, the court made their way down the red carpet to the throne. Senior Brooke Sell was crowned 2019 Homecoming Queen and started the dance with escort C.J. Richardson.
They danced to Hollywood favorites from the 30s and 40s.
Brooke, escorted by C.J. Richardson, was elected by the student body the week prior to Homecoming Week.
The remaining Homecoming candidates and their escorts this year were Haleigh Poole escorted by Jaden Barton, Madison Money, escorted by Houston Money, and Blaire Mayberry, escorted by Colton O’Neal. The underclassmen attendants and their escorts made up the rest of the Queen’s court. They were: Freshman Attendant, Erin Wicker, escorted by Ty Money; Sophomore Attendant, Sophie Neal escorted by Brandon Skaggs, and Junior Attendant, Emilee Bishop escorted by Trey Timmons The retiring queen was 2018 graduate Caite Weiss, escorted by Ty Lane. NCO Elementary second-graders Kennedy Howell and Weston Stone were this year’s Little Miss and Little Mister.
Kayci Large and Brittany Ramsey and the Student Council did the decorations. Collin Sexton and Tori Karnes were announcers.
