High school guidance counselor Clinton Wolff gave the Carmi White County school board last night an update on summer early college classes, and vocational and college-track classes that the district offers. Forty-nine CWC students were enrolled this summer in an early college program; they completed a total of 68 classes. These students can go straight to community college without taking any remedial coursework. Wolff reported that sixteen students are currently at the Stan Williams Center taking industrial arts and industrial maintenance. New, advanced classes are being offered at the high school this year, and Wolff praised the teaching staff, saying that some had attained higher educational credentials on their own to meet the requirements to teach those classes.
