After a brief meeting last night, permission was granted by the CWC school board to apply for a school maintenance grant. A dollar for dollar matching grant, up to $50,000, the grant can be used for maintenance or upkeep of buildings or structures for educational purposes inside the district. Superintendent Jarrod Newell said the matching funds have normally come from the 1% sales tax. The board gave the nod to allow the architect to identify projects that would be eligible for the grant.
The treasurer's report showed the following fund balances: Education fund, $14,042,248; Operations/Maintenance fund, $1,839,073; Bond and Interest fund, $839,697; Transportation fund, $1,038,952; IMRF/SS fund, $522,226; Capital Projects. Fund, $3,953,874; Working Cash fund, $1,045,136; Tort fund, $423,472; and Health Life Safety fund, $606,974.
