Two candidates were offered at the October Township meeting. Chula Fleming is the secretary of the White County GOP and involved in all county Republican activities as well as being a previous candidate for trustee on the board. Cheyenne Long was the second candidate who addressed the board regarding the position, but said nothing about any Republican affiliation. Long was given the appointment by a majority vote of the Township board from Trustees Shelly Buchanan (R), Tim Scates (D) and Supervisor Pam Deig (R) after being nominated by the Supervisor. Trustee Brad Chapman (R) supported Chula Fleming.
