The Carmi City Council voted unanimously last night to stop taking credit card payments for the City's gas and electric bills. At issue is the large amount of credit card fees that are billed to the City by Global Payments for using the service. First Bank representatives were in attendance to give an assessment of Carmi customers’ credit and debit card usage and the resulting fees. Council member Jack Bradshaw was absent.
