Turnout in the mid term White County elections was up to 59% over all, a definite improvement from turnout in the primary elections held on June 28, which proved to be around 33%. Of the of 9,845 registered voters in the county, 5800 cast a ballot, whether through early voting at the courthouse that started on September 29, vote by mail and nursing home voting, and precinct voting on November 8. Mail-in ballots postmarked November 8 are still being accepted and counted at the courthouse for the next two weeks.
