The White County GOP will meet Monday night at the Republican headquarters in Carmi at 6:30 p.m. Important plans for the Lincoln Day dinner/candidate forum will be discussed. Several candidates running for statewide and district offices have committed to attending the forum in May. Also details for the annual White County GOP golf scramble will be discussed.
Anyone interested in helping with these events or helping Republican candidates with their primary election campaigns are encouraged to attend.
A three way race (so far) is shaping up for County Board seat #1 (Enfield township area). In addition to Brad Chapman, two more have picked up petitions this week indicating their desire to run for the Republican nomination for that seat. David South and Terry L. The January 24th meeting of the White County GOP will be held at the Carmi VFW at the usual time of 6:30 p.m. This will be the location of our May 14th candidate forum/porkchop dinner. Meeting there will provide us with the opportunity to see what we will need for the event.
