“Fuel Up For Summer Fun” is the free food lunch program for school children in the Norris City and Omaha areas during the summer months when school is not in session and the lunch program in the school system is not available. The lunch program started on Monday, May 25 and runs until school starts back this fall, about 11 weeks. The program is for kids in Pre-K up to the 12th grade and will operate Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. till 12 noon. There is no registration required and children are asked to show up at the nearest location and pick up a free sack lunch.
The program is modeled after a successful program that runs in Carmi called "No Child Left Hungry."
