The 2023 Winterfest in Crossville takes place this coming Saturday. The vendor fair is from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Crossville school building at 707 N. State Street, with over 30 vendors expected to be on site. The parade starts at 6 p.m. and the theme is Christmas in Toy Land. Santa and Mrs. Clause will be seeing children at 6:30 p.m. There are cash prizes for the parade entries 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and the parade of homes contest! White County Sheriff's Deputy Ethan Jones was made aware on 11/19 that Sarah Wilcox of McLeansboro was seen at a shed behind a residence on 2nd Street in Crossville. Deputy Jones knew Wilcox had multiple active warrants. Jones arrived at the shed and informed Wilcox she was under arrest on the warrants. She was taken into custody and turned over to WCSO correctional officers. White County Housing director Pamela Deig signed a complaint for criminal trespass to property on Wednesday against Devin Ward, 33 of Crossville, after Ward showed up again on property he had been ordered to stay off of on June 9 by Sheriff Jordan Weiss and Deputy Michael Brown. White County Sheriff's Deputy Michael Brown observed Chalon D. Phelps, of Crossville, standing next to a blue Jeep passenger car on 2550 N. at 2060 E. in Grayville, Ill. on March 4 and knew him to be wanted on a White County warrant for Resisting. Phelps was advised by Officer Brown about the warrant, and became upset, stating he had taken care of the warrant.
