Springfield, IL…After several hours of debate, State Rep. Darren Bailey (R-Xenia) voted to oppose Senate Bill 1863 that mandates an expanded vote by mail program and unsecure curbside voting as well as would expand using more 16- and 17-year olds as election judges and other plans for the November 2020 General Election. This morning, The Villagers' Voice received notice of a filing in Clay County Circuit Court to remove Darren Bailey's case, which was to be argued tomorrow, to federal court. It is not known if the Federal court will even hear the case and this action is looking more like a delay tactic. [Read more...]
LOUISVILLE…State Rep. Darren Bailey (R-Xenia) joined his legislative colleagues in Chicago on Tuesday for a joint hearing focused on issues with the state’s Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS). Officials with DCFS, Department of Human Services (DHS) and IlliniCare, testified in front of a combined House Adoption and Child Welfare Committee and Appropriations – Human Services Committee on their preparedness to transition medical care management of foster children and young adults in state custody.
