Rend Lake Ranger Kenna Stoup held the attention of twenty-two little ones at today's Summer Reading event at the Norris City Memorial Library. Kenna brought a company of five different snakes with her to captivate the children with. The collection consisted of a Prairie kingsnake, a hog nose snake, a Desert kingsnake, milk snake and a corn snake. All of the snakes are native to Illinois except for the Prairie King snake, which came from Texas. The snakes can be seen at the visitors' center at Rend Lake.
