Plans to celebrate Norris City’s sesquicentennial are underway. Mayor Skip Land announced that Jane Lamp of Banterra Bank had been collaborating with local businesses to hold a festival on Saturday, October 30 on the bank’s parking lot that will feature vendors, games for the kids, various food donations, chili made by Misty Lamp of The Cardinal, apple cider, carriage rides, and 1871 period costumes with a contest. Trick or Treat hours from 5-8 p.m. to follow the festival were given approval by all the Village trustees. Kevin Pettijohn, Wayne McKenzie, Larry Garlick, Sue James, and Joe Skaggs were present. Judy Daubs was not present.
