NCOE Softball dominated Galatia in a 10-0 victory on Thursday afternoon. The team from Norris City, IL, was led by a strong offensive performance and a stellar defensive effort.
The game was decided in the first inning when NCOE HS scored four runs. Bree Vollman started the inning with a walk and then stole two bases. Hannah Taylor reached on an error and then stole two bases as well. Avery Black added a single and two stolen bases before Elise Hortin and Madeleine Fulkerson each hit singles to drive in runs.
The game was put away in the sixth inning when Black hit a single and then stole a base. Mallory Hobbs ended the game with a single to drive in the final run for a 10-0 score.
Fulkerson was the best offensive player, going 3-for-4 with two singles and a double. Syndee Sauls was the best defensive player, pitching 10 strikeouts. NCOE Softball was able to dominate the game from start to finish, and the team looks to continue their success in the upcoming games.
