On November 22, 2022 the Norris City Quilters met at the Norris City Library with Sheila Albright, Michael Hillegas DAR Veterans Chairman. The quilters group donated beautiful hand-tied lap blankets. In turn, the Michael Hillegas DAR Chapter will donate these quilts to the Marion Hospital VA veterans. So far over 30 blankets have been donated.
The chapter also donated items such as razors, t-shirts, socks, sweats, toothbrushes and paste, pj's etc.
Thanks to these strong and caring people, the DAR is grateful for the hours spent on making the lap quilts.
Michael Hillegas DAR also wants to thank the Norris City Library for allowing the group to have meetings and work sessions whenever needed. Library Director Nichole Inboden and her staff Jodi and Janet have been more than willing to help with all DAR veteran activities.
A very special thank you to veterans who went when they were called and who stood, and those who died to keep the country free.
