John Raymond Sutton, 77, of Norris City, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on July 7, 1945, the son of John and Mabel (McGhee) Sutton. He married Peggy Patton on November 24, 1967, and she survives. John graduated from Eldorado High School in 1963. John went on to graduate from S.I.U. in 1967 with his B.S. in Ag Education. After finishing, he then received his Masters degree in Ag Science in 1971, from S.I.U. John was an Ag teacher. He taught in Shawneetown for nine years, and Gallatin County for 14 years. He taught nearly 3000 students over the 23 years of teaching.
