Illinois Republican gubernatorial candidate Darren Bailey was in town this past weekend. Bailey has been on a "Fix Illinois Tour" touting his conservative policies with his running mate Aaron Delmar, a Chicago native. The two-day tour started August 21 with stops in Redbud, Marion, and Metropolis. Day two on Saturday, the duo traveled to Karnack, Thebes, Anna, and Murphysboro before ending the night at the Higher Ground dining room in New Haven. Mr. Bailey is well-known to southern Illinois conservatives, having served as State Representative and State Senator for the area.
