Springfield, IL… State Representative Darren Bailey (R-Xenia) reacts to Gov. Pritzker’s move to transfer the Bailey lawsuit against his Executive Orders to federal court:
“Since the day Governor Pritzker issued his first emergency order to shut down Illinois, he opposed any opposition or even questions about his actions.
His stubbornness continues today with his move to take our challenge to his autocratic rule to federal court. Instead of moving forward with the lawsuit challenging his rules, which was scheduled for Friday, May 22, the Governor’s action further delays a constitutional review of his shut down orders. I can’t say I’m surprised.
As citizens, we cannot give up the fight to restore government’s proper role in our lives as a servant rather than a master. That is the basis, the foundation of our Democratic Republic laid out for us by the Founding Fathers and defended for more than 240 years.
I ask for your continued support and your prayers as we move forward to protect our Liberty. As our Declaration of Independence states, ‘…Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.’
Sadly, the Governor has not followed this principle in word or deed.”
