On 05/29/23, White County Sheriff's Deputy Sgt. Craig Poole was dispatched to a residence in the county for a burglary and criminal damage report. Upon arrival Sgt. Poole spoke with the homeowner. They advised that while they were gone, someone had damaged their truck, kicked in their front door, and stole multiple items throughout the residence and property. Multiple windows had been busted out at the residence. Illinois State Police Crime Scene was called to process the scene. Also stolen were a UTV and a jon boat. The UTV was recovered a night prior by Deputy Simmons on Epworth road, but had not been reported stolen at that time.
