The Norris City Village board on Monday night and mulled over reports about incoming revenues versus increased costs of providing utilities to the Village. After consulting the Village auditor who raised a red flag about the state of the matter, Mayor Skip Land reported that she was glad someone was finally listening to her. The costs of maintaining and repairing utilities have increased so much that the Village has been falling behind in keeping up. The mayor said he hated to bring the situation to the board because of the inflation residents are currently enduring, but that something had to be done in order to keep up. The board agreed to the five year plan presented by the Mayor Land, with the option that if inflation should settle down, the board can revisit the matter.
