The 2023 Winterfest in Crossville takes place this coming Saturday. The vendor fair is from 2 p.m. - 8 p.m. at the Crossville school building at 707 N. State Street, with over 30 vendors expected to be on site. The parade starts at 6 p.m. and the theme is Christmas in Toy Land. Santa and Mrs. Clause will be seeing children at 6:30 p.m. There are cash prizes for the parade entries 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and the parade of homes contest! Most activities take place at the Crossville School building.
A collection of Barbie dolls will be featured in an exhibit. Shirley Knight Ritsch has a collection of over 400 Barbies. The display on Saturday is free of charge for all those girls out there who collected and played with Barbies. A photo box will be available to take pictures of yourself or your child on your phone. Ritsch will also have two of the new Barbies offered for a raffle with tickets for sale for $1 each. "Relive the past and present day Barbies with this display."
Featured activities this year at the Crossville Winterfest are the Parade of Homes, a 50/50 drawing, ornament contest, baking contest, gingerbread house decorating contest, basket raffle, tree decorating contest, and silent auction.
The Ornament Contest has age categories from 3 to adult. Winning ornaments will be judged 40% virtually (vote on our Crossville Winterfest FB site) and 60% on judge vote. The virtual vote on our FB page (Crossville Winterfest) will be held December 4-8. A winner will be announced in each category. The ornaments will be displayed on a tree at the Crossville School the afternoon of December 9, and may be picked up that evening. Winners will be posted on the Winterfest FB page and prizes will be awarded to them when they pick up their ornaments.
A surprised visit from Salsarita's food truck from Evansville, Indiana will be serving up Mexican food December 9 from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
