The Norris City village board on Monday night voted to lock in new electric rates early for the Village in an attempt to stave off what may prove to be persistently rising electric rates in the next few years. The aggregate representative looked at the Village's current rate of .04391 cents per kilowatt hour, with an increase on June 1 and another rate increase anticipated in October, and advised the board to lock in a rate of .096580 cents per kilowatt hour for the coming four years. The current lower rate remains in place until November.
