Did you know that November is National Novel Writing Month? Every year writers all over the world attempt to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. That’s an average of 1,667 words a day, every day, for an entire month. This practice has yielded several best-selling novels including “Water for Elephants” by Sara Gruen, “Cinder” by Marissa Meyer, “The Night Circus” by Erin Morgenstern, and “The Wedding Date” by Jasmine Guillory. The NaNoWriMo organization provides tools, structure, community, and encouragement to help authors find their voices, and achieve creative goals. So if you are participating in NaNoWriMo this year, good luck and remember that the library is a nice quiet place to sit down and write for a few hours.
