The Indian Creek Township board last night voted on their agenda for the upcoming annual Town meeting in April. One item for that agenda is the possibility of abolishing the road district and changing how road management is supervised in the township. Supervisor Ron McAnulty and trustees Terry Daubs, Evan Bryant and David Spence voted in favor of taking the matter to the citizens of Indian Creek at the annual Town Hall meeting to ask them what they think about the idea. Jeromy Johnson voted against putting it on the Town meeting agenda. Trustee Daubs says he believes the district should be run like a business. Trustee Evan Bryant stated that the trustees are there to make good decisions for the township and the taxpayers' money, and sometimes hard decisions have to be made. [Read more...]
Carmi’s Annual Town Meeting Includes Overview of the Township’s Year
Supervisor, Pam Deig called the Annual Town meeting of the Carmi Township to order at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13. Those in attendance recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Townships’ Annual Town Meetings Still on Hold But State Gives Options
Carmi Township's Town Meeting was again on the agenda as they gave consideration on Tuesday night about when to hold their annual meeting. New guidelines have come out from the state in that regard, and attorney Greg Stewart said that the state was now offering two options for townships to move forward with the deferred town meetings, which are normally held in April. Carmi Township Board Supervisor Pam Deig announced on Tuesday night she has a tentative budget ready and last year’s numbers are available if the trustees wish to do a comparison.
