Rotary Club’s Spring Trivia Contest Set for Saturday March 11

Thursday’s meeting of the Carmi Rotary club was all about the upcoming trivia contest. This spring’s version will take place on Saturday, March 11th at the American Legion on Oak Street in Carmi. The night kicks off at 6:00 p.m. and should wrap up around 8:00 p.m. There will be four rounds of ten questions each, covering such topics as: history, sports, pop culture, the Bible, language, food and a few other brain teasers thrown in for good measure. Rotarians Plan Trivia Contest and Chili Supper

Thursday’s meeting of the Carmi Rotary club was a low-key event as the Rotarians primarily focused on a couple of upcoming events.
First up, the Rotarians discussed the upcoming Trivia Contest. This year’s fall event will be a little earlier than usual. In year’s past, the contests have always been linked to the time change dates. This year’s fall contest will be held on Saturday, October 22nd. Rotary Club Report: Rotarian Cindy Conley Goes to D.C.

The Carmi Rotary club had a presentation from one of their own on Thursday, as Cindy Conley told the group about her recent trip to Washington, DC.

Cindy explained that she had wanted to take a long trip to the nation’s capital for some time, and when the chance came along to go with her long-time friend Kathleen Logsdon, she made her plans. [Read more...]

Carmi Rotary Club Prepares for District Governor’s Visit

The Carmi Rotary Club met on Thursday, July 21, 2022 without a formal speaker, so the Rotarians on hand used their time to discuss a variety of topics. First up, the club discussed next week’s meeting, when the newly inaugurated district Governor will be on hand. Mary Harvey, of the Mt. Vernon, Illinois club will make her first official visit to Carmi, as the 22-23 DG of the southern Illinois district.
