Saturday, June 3rd, the Carmi Rifle Club will be hosting their annual Brownell’s NRA Day which will be open to men, women, and youths (ages 9 yrs.old and up). The Carmi club is proud to continue southern Illinois' rich heritage of firearm ownership and sport shooting. The event, partially funded by a grant from the Friends of the NRA Foundation, is a unique opportunity to learn about the importance of firearm safety and to participate in a wide variety of shooting sports. The day begins at 8:30 am with registration and includes firearm safety orientation, instruction in the fastest growing sports in the nation - trap shooting with shotguns and steel challenge with .22 target pistols, firing a wide variety of rifles and centerfire pistols. Rich Gurka: I Have Quit the NRA
1. Earlier this year the Illinois Department of Natural Resources decided to attempt to hire another group, perhaps 25, of Conservation Police Officer recruits. At first, since very few folks seemed to be interested, a decision was made to waive the written test requirement.

Firearm safety and marksmanship instruction, along with expert range supervision, will create a fun and informative day for women attending the Carmi Rifle Club’s May 1st Women On Target Shooting Clinic.
The Carmi Rifle Club, a not for profit organization in Carmi, IL, will be hosting its annual NRA Women On Target instructional shooting clinic on Saturday, May 1st.
