Indian Creek Township Supervisor Ron McAnulty announced on Wednesday night that the State of Illinois had raised the ceiling amount for competitive bidding for townships. The bill, HB4252, passed in both houses in March and amended the Township Code, providing that any purchase by a township for services, materials, equipment, or supplies in excess of $30,000 (previously $20,000) shall be contracted in specified ways. The bill provides that contracts for construction work whose estimated cost will exceed $30,000 for township waterworks and sewerage systems shall be let to the lowest responsible bidder.
