The May meeting of the Omaha board of trustees was called to order at 7:00 p.m. with Village President Dennis West on Monday, May 8. Board members present were Beverly Loderback, Ashley Douglass, Brent Wood, Jon Davis and Scott Sauls. Village clerk Patti Chittenden and Village treasurer Jane Schultz were also in attendance. Visitors were Bob Lambert, Kayla Weaver, Brooke Rider, John Beam, Danny York, Richard Fromm, Gene & Carolyn Pack, David and Janet Vickers, Richard Noel, Russ Sauls and Junalie Nelson.
The minutes were read for the April meeting and approved. Bills were also approved to be paid.
Old business was taken care of before the new village president and officers took their seats. West read a letter thanking the board for the annual NCOE after-graduation party donation.
West reported had received a letter from Glenn Clarida of Clarida Ziegler Engineering saying that as of May 10, 2017 the 1 yr. warranty on the sewage project is up.
Richard Fromm approached the board to see if his yard would be fixed where there are problems with his septic tank. Once all old business was complete, the new village president and officers took their seats. Village President Bob Lambert, Village Clerk Kayla Weaver, Trustees Scott Sauls, Ashley Doulgass and Junalie Nelson were all sworn into office.
Lambert thanked Dennis West, Patti Chittenden and George Carter for the service to the board. He gave a welcome speech and went over a list of ideas for the board to consider.
Jane approaches the board about the swimming pool one time fill up to see if the fill up to 8000 gallon was still in effect. Fire chief Richard Noel reported they had a successful meeting for May and one fire call. He also informed the board of the need for new radios and safety equipment. the fire department is wanting to do a fundraiser to acquire the needed funds.
Russ Sauls reported to the board that a new air compressor had been stolen from his front porch.
The town wide rummage sale is set for the weekend of May 19 and 20.
The next scheduled board meeting will be June 12 at 7:00 p.m.
