The Carmi Rifle Club will be offering an NRA Range Safety Officer Certification Class on June 23. The NRA Range Safety Officer program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. NRA Range Safety Officers are people who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. NRA Range Safety Officers should be experienced shooters, involved in many aspects of target shooting, training and range supervision. The NRA encourages active shooters to learn more and become responsible for the safety of fellow shooters through this program.
Students will be instructed in the Role of the NRA Range Safety Officer and Range Standard Operating Procedures, Range Inspection and Range Rules, Range Safety Briefing, Emergency Procedures, Firearm Stoppages and Malfunctions. All training is in classroom at the Guardian Center in Carmi, 1124 Oak Street (across from Hucks) no live fire or range work. Hours are 7:45AM to 5PM with an hour off for lunch on your own. The fee for the course is $125. Advanced registration is required along with a $50 deposit payable to Heartland Training Team. Registration form is available at https://www.heartlandtrainingteam.com/ registration. Please contact Mike Rowe at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 618-963-2788 if interested in attending the course. Carmi Rifle Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing firearms training and education to the community and providing a safe location and environment to enjoy shooting.
