On Friday, August 28, the NCOE Fighting Cardinal golf team headed to Hardin County to tackle the TTI Golf Club course. This match would be a little different from the previous two, as NCOE would only be competing against two other teams instead of three. The three teams making up the field in this match would be the Eldorado Eagles, host Hardin County Cougars, and the NCOE Fighting Cardinals.
Following a second place finish just three days earlier, the NCOE team, now consisting of Dakota Bond, Andy Brinkley, Justin Brock, Brandon Skaggs, Austin Brinkley, and Collin Sexton were hoping to do even better. Better would be an understatement. The Fighting Cardinals were able to post their best overall team score yet and were only one stroke away from claiming team honors. In addition, each team member either improved their best score of the young season or matched their best score.
Dakota Bond was the top golfer for NCOE with a score of 45. He was followed closely by Andy Brinkley’s 46 and Justin Brock’s 47. Rounding out the other Fighting Cardinals were Brandon Skaggs, Collin Sexton, and Austin Brinkley.
Top golfer for the day was Hardin County’s Peyton Lane. Hardin County also claimed team honors followed by NCOE and Eldorado.
NCOE will travel back to Hardin County for another contest on September 21.
