The Illinois FFA Foundation was established in 1947. The Foundation provides financial support for the FFA Program, such as providing money to pay for awards and plaques for the competitions, paying entry fees for Leadership Trainings, Scholarships, National Convention Expenses and lots of other things. Every year the Illinois FFA Foundation spends over $150,000 in leadership development, over $30,000 in plaques and awards, $20,000 in chapter support and $10,000 to those who need help getting into the National Convention.
We, as a chapter are always looking for sponsors to help the Illinois Foundation. This year, as a section, we held a fundraiser called Barn Golf. It was the first time we had ever held a Barn Golf event. It required a team of five traveling to several different locations such as Harrisburg, Carrier Mills, Massac County, Pope County, Gallatin County and Eldorado. There were three different playing holes at each location. Each hole was made by the 13 different FFA Chapters in Section 25. FS donated a gift basket to Norris City’s playing hole at Gallatin’s location. Whoever hit a hole in one at our hole won the gift basket. Overall winners won cash prizes. The day was a success from the contestants’ point of view. The NCOE FFA wants to thank all our sponsors and those who played.
