Michael Hillegas Daughters gathered at the stone marking known Revolutionary soldiers buried in Saline County. Daughters laying the Wreath of Remembrance included Shelia Albright, Signe Plumlee, Kathy Morris, Cheri McClusky, Laura Spanel, Sharon Tanner, and Sharon Pyle.
The day was beautiful, with flags fluttering by each white cross in a crisp breeze. The cemetery grounds were beautifully manicured and there was a crowd of American patriots in attendance.
Chapter Regent Kathy Morris participated in the program, reading the poem “In Flanders Field” and “Freedom in America” by Joanna Fuchs. Chapter Daughters also placed pennies on the stone and other veterans' graves indicating that the veterans were not forgotten.
