In July, a second team from The Roads Church in Norris City traveled to the St. Louis Dream Center. For most of the week, the team assisted in the Food Pantry serving many people with groceries and the Kitchen where hot meals were served three days a week to the homeless and many others in the community. Much opportunity was given to share the love of Jesus by listening to their stories, encouraging those with set goals and praying with them – all to let them know their value to Jesus Christ.
To complete the week, on Saturday, the team was honored to lend a hand at the Oasis International monthly block party for refugees. Oasis assists refugees from war-torn countries who have relocated to St. Louis. Of the 12 different countries represented, the team was able to talk to and minister to many of them. As one of the team members stated, “It was like God caused every word or prayer from my mouth to have value and substance for each person I talked to – they were not empty words.”
