On Tuesday night, the NCOE Jr. High teams traveled to Thompsonville to take on the Tigers.
The 8th grade had a surprisingly easy night and had a not often seen event happen in the process. After wining the first set 25-4, the Cards received the serve and won the point. Halle Roper stepped to the line with her team leading 1-0 and served out the rest of the game. The Jr. Lady Cards won 25-0, a feat that the officials and coaches had not witnessed before. When asked if she was nervous as the score mounted, Hallie replied “nope.”
“The girls kept Halle serving. It was an unusual feat,” Coach Melton said.
Roper ended up with 28 points on the night as Wicker added 15. Cole 21, and Jasmine Allen one.
Hollan Everett had a big hitting night with 9 kills, and Bree Vollman added 2. Vollman also had 6 assists as Everett and Roper each had one. Vollman also had one dig and Everett 2 blocks.
Kirsten Cacia, Riley Dagley and Gracie Howard also contributed to the win.
The Jr. Cards are now 2-0 on the season.
The 7th grade again struggled to find that 25 point score as they fell 18-26, 22-25.
“We passed better and set, but the hits were off,” Black stated.
