White County State's Attorney Denton Aud sent the following information to the media describing the trajectory of a sweeping police and criminal justice reform bill that will severely hamper the ability of police departments and sheriffs to do their jobs and make Illinois communities less safe.

The record will incorrectly note that the vote was 1/12/2021 because that is the day the legislative session began but the 764 pages of HB 3653 were not even public on 1/12/2021.
100 of 102 State's Attorneys opposed the bill. Both Sheriff and Chief Association opposed the bill.
