The White County Board last Tuesday approved a Federal Aid Agreement for Section #15-00124-00-RS, a three mile White County Road Resurfacing project at 1450 E (CH7) 650 N Road to IL 141. This is a standard agreement required for a resurfacing project. The Federal government will fund $1.4 million, while the state will kick in $300,000. County funding is $15,000.
The White County Board meeting was called to order at 7 p.m. by Ron McAnulty in Don Puckett’s absence. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
The minutes for the March 12 meeting were approved and payment of the bills was approved. Brian Ray had no highway report to give other than to say the new truck may be ready by September or October.
The Sheriff reported revenue for the month of March at $122,133.50, with the City of Carmi showing an $8546 credit; inmate population stood at 56, with 19 from White County and 37 from out of county.
The Sheriff ’s office handled 377 calls for service during March and White County Dispatch handled 1318 calls for service in March. Correctional officer Aspen Craddock resigned. The board gave its approval to an Ordiinance for Towing Fees for Impounded Vehicles from the White County Sheriff ’s Department. #2019-04-09-01
The board approved the re-appointment of Mike Frashier to the Rides Mass Transit board for a a four year term beginning March 10, 2019 and ending March 10, 2023.
The Agreement between White County And the University of Illinois Extension Council was approved. The amount of $78,225 is a standard agreement the county makes yearly and comes from levies.
Kenny Usery was appointed to the Southeastern Illinois Economic Development Authority for a two-year term beginning immediately and ending the third Monday in January, 2020. Its purpose is to spur economic activity and create jobs.
Proposal for bids to furnish materials required for the 2019 MFT programs for the County was approved, as was also the proposal for bids to furnish materials required for the MFT programs for the township. All board members voted in favor.
There was no Executive Session. The next meeting is May 14, 2019 at 7 p.m.
