On Saturday, November 9, from 4 - 7 p.m. The Roads Church will have a showing of the movie "Unplanned," followed by a time of Q & A with Robia Scott. On Sunday, November 10, Robia Scott will be the guest speaker at The Roads Church Norris City Campus at both the 9 and 10:45 a.m. services, as well as the 6 p.m. service at The Roads Church Mt. Carmel Campus.
The Village Board of Omaha met on Monday night, October 21, in a special meeting to attend to the business of shaping the new alcohol/gaming ordinance. The board met at 7 p.m. and all the trustees were there, as well as President Bob Lambert, Clerk Patti Chittenden, a few visitors, the owner of One Stop, Jerry Palmer, and Frank Rojas of Curo Gaming.
Chris Hosman, 43, of Norris City, turned himself in at the White County Sheriff’s Department on a White County arrest warrant on Friday, Oct. 18.

Parent teacher conferences will be held throughout the school district next week. It was announced at the Unit #3 School Board meeting this week. Parents are encouraged to meet with the teachers. NCOE and Booth report cards went home with students this week also.
Carmi Rifle Club, a not-for-profit organization, will be offering its fall 16 hr. concealed carry class Nov. 2 & 9th. 16 hours of training is required by law for the IL license. The club will host the Day 1 class, which covers firearms and marksmanship on Nov. 2. The Day 2 class, which covers the legal portion of the concealed carry law, is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 9 Classroom portion will be conducted at the White County Farm Bureau Bldg. with range training and qualification at the Carmi Rifle Club. Instructors will be IL State Police registered concealed carry instructors Mike and Valinda Rowe.
