The Norris City Village board on Monday night voted to pursue court action against the owners of LaDiDah, previously housed at 102 E. Main St., to reclaim the entire TIF grant the Village awarded them in 2021. Heath and Danielle Short were awarded $17,100.00 in taxpayer funded grant money to repair the roof and ceiling in the building. The TIF agreement stipulates that if the Shorts sell, transfer or otherwise convey or dispose of their beneficial interest in the building within one calendar year after the effective date of the agreement, they shall reimburse the Village 100% of all funds remitted by the Village for the improvements. Representative Patrick Windhorst: Why is Governor Enforcing Unconstitutional Gun Law?

At a capitol news conference on Wednesday, State Rep. Patrick Windhorst (R-Metropolis) had a question for Governor Pritzker. Why, the 117th District State Representative asked, is Governor Pritzker and Attorney General Kwame Raoul continuing to enforce the recently enacted firearms ban despite multiple court rulings finding the law unconstitutional.
"Illinois courts have weighed in several times now, and their decisions have so far been to rule the firearms ban as unconstitutional," Windhorst said. "So, why are Governor Pritzker and the Attorney General continuing to enforce the law as if nothing has happened?" [Read more...]
Multiple Law Enforcement Agencies Respond to Man Wanted in TN, Suspect Flees to Indiana
On March 7, 2023 at approximately 10:15 a.m. White County Dispatch received a phone call from Nashville, Tenn. Police Department. Nashville advised they had a wanted subject at the Skeeter Mountain rest area on I-64 in Grayville. This individual, identified as Brandon M. Freeman, was wanted out of Nashville and wanted by the U.S. Marshals for Violation of Probation and was driving a gold 4-door with Tennessee registration.
