Reported by Chula Fleming
Two items on the Carmi Township's September agenda prompted questions from resident attendee Chula Fleming on Tuesday night at the regular monthly meeting.
During the public comment time of the Sept 8, 2026 meeting, Fleming raised questions regarding an audit to be completed internal by committee and bids for a new auditor. Fleming inquired why the Township was seeking a new auditor. Supervisor Pam Deig advised that the Township had always used an outside auditor, but current auditor Botsch & Associates had not responded to phone calls as of this date. Deig said "they are just busy and we still have time. We can request an extension.” The deadline to file the audit report is September 30.
