One individual was sentenced to the Illinois Department of Corrections on Monday this week in White County Court.

Michael W. French, 50, of Carmi was sentenced on Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver, a class 1 felony. He received a sentence of nine years in DOC and two years of MSR. French was also ordered to pay court costs.
French was arrested in October after officers of the Carmi Police Department executed a search warrant at his house. In pleading guilty, French admitted to possessing between 5 and 15 grams of methamphetamine with the intent to deliver said methamphetamine. He was on probation for a separate methamphetamine offense at the time of his arrest. French was represented by Public Defender Brian Shinkle. Judge T. Scott Webb was the presiding judge that imposed the sentence.
