Last Saturday, candidates for the Carmi city council were invited to attend a meet and greet at the Elks Lodge in Carmi. Candidate for Mayor of Carmi is Bill Stendeback, a new candidate who started out challenging three-term Mayor Jeff Pollard before Pollard dropped out of the race in January. Stendeback is the only candidate on the ballot for a four-year term.
